Lake Arrowhead is a community that is environmentally conscience throughout the developmental process. We ‘think green’ in every way possible to ensure the lasting beauty and environmental integrity of our beautiful 8,000 acre lake and woodland community.
- Preserve 8,000 acres of pristine natural beauty
- Protect our spring-fed 540-acre lake – one of the cleanest in the state
- Control motorboat use on the lake – only 4-stroke boat motors allowed.
- 8+ miles of hiking trails through the protected woodlands utilize natural mulch
- We work closely with an environmental specialists to oversee development and to identify resources.
- When trees are removed, new trees are planted to continue the growth cycle of the forests.
- Water & sewer – we pump from the ground – send to homes – then back into the ground.
- Lake Arrowhead operates on a well fed water system. There is no septic.
- An on-site treatment plant pumps to the golf course and common areas. The only water loss is by evaporation.
- The golf course uses turf treatments and chemicals well below industry standards.
- Irrigation water is trapped and filtered before it flows into streams
- Golf carts are energy efficient
- Use of natural mulch and less sod along roadways.
- Use of native vegetation on all landscape plans for new homes. Non-invasive plants are utilized.
- No more than 20% of a front yard of any home may be sodded.
- An ecological garden in Great Festival Park provides beauty and education in ecology.
- A certified ‘green builder’ is currently building homes in the community
