Dear Lake Arrowhead Friends and Neighbors,

I would like to take this opportunity to address issues that were raised in the recent quarterly meeting regarding the Lake Arrowhead Marina, most notably increased slip fees and lake access. Please allow me to elaborate on our plans as our community continues to grow. Recent feedback from community members has served as a catalyst for us to carefully examine the best ways to enhance lake access and provide cost effective boating options for residents. 

Lake Access

The lake is an amazing asset for all our property owners and access to it is a primary focus for us. To address this need, Lake Arrowhead Communities installed the floating pavilion at its own expense in 2019. This allows every property owner to have access to the lake in a unique and convenient manner. 

Prior to 2020, our current boat slips were rented at very low rates. As our community grew, this resulted in a long wait list and building more slips did little to alleviate the problem. To increase lake access for all residents, we created an affordable boat rental program as an alternative to boat ownership. The funding for this was provided via slip fee increases and user fees. Our goal was to find the equilibrium where residents could rent boats at reasonable rates, while providing current slip holders with rates amenable to resident and developer needs. While we cannot predict the future, please know we will strive to achieve a balance that meets the needs of all Lake Arrowhead residents and allows for quality and affordable lake access in the future. 

As such, I am pleased to announce that major improvements are underway to the shore side slips in the main marina, including replacing the decking with composite material, as well as adding electric outlets and lighting. A new bathroom facility will also be installed to provide greater capacity as our community grows.  

Finally, in recognition that slip rates may create a burden to some boat owners, we now offer a three-tier price structure. Slips at the Narrows Marina will be the most cost effective with slightly more expensive options available at the main Marina depending on whether you want a floating pavilion slip or a recently renovated shore side slip. 

Conclusion

We recognize that our community is growing and resultant changes impact residents in a myriad of ways. Enhancing lake access is important to everyone and we are striving to provide an array of quality options. Please know that we appreciate and value input from our community as we strive to make Lake Arrowhead the best community possible for current and future residents.

Yes — resale homes are available, though they are not listed through the Lake Arrowhead sales and information center. Community covenants allow a uniform neighborhood resale sign on properties, so we recommend working with a local realtor familiar with the community to find resale listings.
